"Write the Future Competition" (thank you Nike!)

All you have to do is make your picks for the four categories below and you will score points for each correct pick. The top three highest scorers get awesome prizes and of course bragging rights (priceless in value)!!

So go ahead and put all those winning frameworks to good use - scenario planning, cascading choices, research the Goldman Sachs WC report or maybe just take your father's advice and pick the team that has the Maradona connection... But tell us what your predictions are for:

a) The four semi-finalists (10 points for each correct pick)
b) FIFA 2010 Champions (30 points)
c) Winner of the Golden Boot (i.e. highest goal scorer) (20 points)
d) The African nation that will go the furthest in the World Cup (10 points)
e) The Wooden Spoon Winner - the team with the lowest point after the Group stage (in case there is a tie, the one conceding the most goals) (20 points)

Send in your answers to Nidhi Hegde... Or, just leave your picks as the comment to this blog...

 Deadline : Friday June 11th 5PM

And the game starts now

As the mercury of football fever soars across the world, we welcome you to " Get the World Cup to Monitor " - a forum where you can contribute by
a) Writing an article
- a brilliant match reporting/ recollecting a humorous anecdote/ a philosophical rendition connecting the world cup with Indian politics or Aztec Civilization --- anything under the sun relating world cup would do!

b) Presenting an analysis
- a mind-boggling analysis (statistical / heuristics / game theory - we don't care) predicting who would win the world cup, or score maximum goals ; or discovering correlation between no. of cards shown and no. of goals scored --- you know what I mean!

c) Sharing your photography skills
- a photograph (we don't prefer Photoshop) catching a World Cup moment... Ofcourse, brownie points if Monitor logo is also visible in the photo !

d) And beyond... anythong regarding the world cup you want to share with us...

Well, apart from the great joy of writing/snapping and sharing, the entries would be judged by the Monitor India community, and the winners would take home attractive prizes along with loads of accolades :)
